Hello, Shiza from the Yatagarasu dev team here. An update on development progress will follow later, but today I have a quick update with some details about the arcade location testing in Japan and a message from the team about the Alpha release. NESiCAxLive Version Location Tests Location tests for the NESiCAxLive (arcade) version of Yatagarasu AoC will be held over Sept 19-21st* in 4 game centers in Japan. This is the first opportunity to get hands on with this version which features the first new character, Azure, so if you are in or can visit Japan (Tokyo Game Show will be held on the same dates), please drop in and try it out. Participating arcades are: Akihabara HEY Taito Station Osu (大須) Taito Station Namba (難波) Taito Station Tenjin, Fukuoka (福岡天神) There will also be questionnaires about Yatagarasu AoC available in the arcades. Feedback from the questionnaires will be used as reference by the Yatagarasu dev team and will affect the development of the game, so please take a moment to fill one out. Here is the announcement of the test at Famitsu’s website: http://www.famitsu.com/news/201409/11061144.html Alpha Version Testing On August 17th at the summer Comic Market event. we distributed the latest PC version of Yatagarasu AoC and released the same version to backers on Steam. The dev team members were excited to see Yatagarasu on Steam for the first time and happy it went well. One thing we learned from this release is that releasing even a work in progress build is extremely difficult. It takes a lot of tinkering with the code to make it releasable and to make sure that play data and feedback can be processed. The Alpha version is still very much a work in progress, but hopefully gives a good idea of progress and the direction development is taking. The release has been valuable for the dev team as we are receiving lots of feedback from the release, and it’s already been a great reference in development. Thank you to everyone for your feedback and opinions. Please look forward to the next version. Shiza
We are very pleased to announce two exciting developments for Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm coming up this week! Starting this Thursday (August 21st) and running through December 18th, Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm will stream every Thursday in the 2014 summer and fall tournament seasons of the premier fighting game promoter Level Up’s “The Runback!” show which streams from the New Super Arcade in Walnut, California. This is a great opportunity see the latest Yatagarasu AoC builds in action for the first time as tournament players will begin playing the Alpha build of Yatagarasu AoC from this Thursday, then upgrade to the Beta and retail builds as they’re released. What’s more, players are competing for $1,000 in cash each season, so we’re in for some exciting high level competitive Yatagarasu play! Don’t miss this! For full details, see Level Up’s season announcement here: http://www.levelup-series.com/2014-summer-fall-tournament-season/ Level Up tournament players won’t be the only ones to get their hands on the Alpha build of Yatagarasu AoC! Also on August 21st, the same Alpha build to be featured on The Runback will be released to Beta Access qualifying backers from the Yatagarasu AoC IndieGogo campaign! Backer access will be updated to Beta and full retail builds also as they are rolled out over the coming weeks. Backer access to the new builds will be provided via Steam keys, which will be distributed directly to each backer and everyone will be able to discuss the game via Steam Discussion group which will open this week. More details about the build features, etc. will be announced on Thursday. Beta Access backers > Expect your Steam key to arrive at the mail address you provided at the IndieGogo campaign on Thursday. We have many new exciting changes and features to follow in upcoming builds, but in many ways, this week marks the start of the countdown to Yatagarasu AoC’s full release, and everyone at the Yatagarasu dev team and Nyu Media are very excited for people to get their hands on Yatagarasu AoC for the first time! Watch this space for more updates coming this week!
The biggest fighting game event in the world, the Evolution Championship Series in Las Vegas, ended yesterday and we had an early* build of Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm on show: two versus stations at the Indie Games Showcase and an arcade cabinet at the Mad Catz booth. * A pre-alpha build that includes some of the work-in-progress improvements such as new art, refined game balancing, new stage backgrounds, but not yet including the new characters or English dynamic commentary. (More updates/developments on this build to follow.) Seats at the Yatagarasu stations were filled with players going head to head for the entirety of the event, and the reception was simply amazing. Genuine praise and appreciation for Yatagarasu AoC classic arcade-style game play, but also that ‘in the arcade’ VIBE among the players! We honestly could not have hoped for a better welcome. Peace!
It’s official! Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm will be featured in the Evo 2014 Indie Showcase which will will place July 11-13th at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel and Casino! http://shoryuken.com/2014/

Nyu Media will be manning the stand. We’ll have some goodies up for grabs and we’re arranging for Umezono from the dev team to drop by!
As announced last month, Yatagarasu AoC was submitted for the Steam community’s approval on Steam Greenlight on May 20th. In just two scant weeks, it rocketed to the top of the Greenlight entries and was approved for release Steam last night! On behalf of everyone at Nyu Media and the Yatagarasu dev team, THANK YOU to everyone who voted and made this happen! Access to Steam’s backend means it’s now likely that we will use Steam and its community system for the beta testing that will be available to qualifying campaign contributors ahead of the game release. Details and timing are TBC – please watch these IGG updates, the Yatagarasu AoC Steam discussion group, Nyu Media Facebook or Twitter accounts, for updates. Once again, HUGE thank you to all who supported Yatagarasu AoC at Greenlight and we very much look forward to bringing it to you in late summer!
